Duration

4.5 Hours

About

Learn the rich tradition of leaded stained-glass creation practiced since the Middle Ages! This class offers a fun and compact introduction to the leaded method, perfect for those curious about the medieval art form.

This is considered the most difficult “fun” class we offer. This method of stained glass is not for everyone, but this class is the perfect way to find out.

What You Will Learn

Experience the magic of creating a 6-inch square panel using the traditional lead came stained glass technique.

Beginning with your pre-cut design, you will learn to manipulate the lead came, cut angles for joints, solder, and glaze your piece. You will walk away with a completed panel and a newfound appreciation for this timeless art form.

What You Will Not Learn

While this class won't cover glass cutting, it provides a perfect glimpse into the leaded stained-glass process.

This class is designed to provide a quick, immersive experience and have customers leave with a finished piece after a single session. Many details and fundamentals of the method are omitted to create a 4-hour experience.

Students who are interested in mastering the medium should take a masterclass where the focus is to make them independent in the medium.

Project Size and Details

Choose from our selection of designs, each averaging 6 inches by 6 inches.

Projects with fewer pieces are typically easier. The consensus is that our easiest design is geometric, and our most difficult is traditional.

Curious about what designs we offer? Check them out on our website!

Unfortunately, custom designs are not allowed in this class. If you would like a custom project, please feel free to check out our Tiffany Method Class or Lead Came Masterclass.

What to Bring

Don't forget your glasses for a clear view of your work. You'll be glad you did!

What To Wear

The final step to completing your leaded project involves mudding or glazing your panel. It’s messy stuff! We provide disposable aprons and gloves, but don't wear your Sunday best!
