About

Walk through a forest full of mystery along an old trapper’s path. Learn traditional knowledge while you snowshoe and sample healing teas from plants that grow along The Medicine Trail. Travel deep into a special ancient forest in the Callaghan Valley. Hear a brief history of the area’s traditional uses and ways of the past. Let your imagination go as you gaze upon giant cedar, fir and hemlock trees that provide a canopy high above. Finish back at the caboose for a rejuvenating snack by the fire.

Notes and Restrictions

  • Minimum age to participate is 8+ years.
  • All minors (under 19 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • All groups require a minimum of one translator to interpret the waivers. Translators must be 19+ years and speak both English and the language of the group fluently enough to translate the waiver. Snowshoe tours do not require a translator for the tour, just the waiver process.
  • Under no circumstances is any person suspected to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol permitted to participate in any tour. Persons denied participation will not receive a refund.
  • Expecting mothers are welcome on our Snowshoe tours.
  • Adventure sport activities are not recommended for individuals who suffer back or neck pain, heart or respiratory distress. Consult your physician prior to participation.
  • Please bear in mind that this is an adventure tour on undulating terrain which requires a moderate level of fitness.
  • A signed waiver must be completed before your trip.

What to Bring

  • Wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Winter jacket, snow pants, winter gloves and winter boots. We strongly encourage you to wear your own winter boots, however a limited number of boots are available to borrow if you do not have your own pair.
  • A camera or phone to take photos and share moments.
  • A pair of snowshoes will be provided for all participants.

Prepare for changing winter weather with waterproof jackets, pants, and insulated gloves to stay dry and warm.

Use Your Own Winter Boots

Bring sturdy winter boots for optimum comfort and support; rental boots are limited and may not fit everyone well.

Arrive Early for Shuttle

Check in 30 minutes before departure to ensure a smooth start; shuttle transportation is included from the meeting point.

Bring a Camera

Capture the mossy old-growth forest and tea moments, but respect the quiet ambiance to maintain the trail’s meditative feel.
