About

During low tide on the south side of Burrard Inlet, the water goes out hundreds of metres. This is where our tour begins! Take off your shoes and socks and sink your toes into the wet cool sand. Enjoy the beach front with beautiful tide pools and sun reflecting off the water. We will play in the shallow, warm waters, then finish off with a healthy picnic as we watch the tide come in.

What to bring

  • Clothing: Loose fitting, comfortable clothes, or sportswear. Closed footwear, no sandals or flip-flops on all tours.
  • Layering clothes is best as Vancouver – and throughout BC – we frequently encounter changing weather conditions especially in the mountains.
  • For hikes, proper shoes such as running shoes, or hiking footwear with good support is mandatory.
  • A day backpack to carry your personal belongings.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for sun protection.
  • Camera or phone to take pictures.
  • Cash or credit cards for purchases along the way.

Vancouver’s coastal climate can shift quickly; dress in loose, breathable layers.

Protect yourself from the sun

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat will keep you comfortable during exposed beach time.

Plan for tide timing

Tours coincide with low tide; check tide charts if planning independent visits.
