We'll be walking in the footsteps of the Saints and early Christians along the ancient Pilgrim’s Way, the traditional route to Lindisfarne, which has been in use for at least 1500 years. You will need to wear your wellies now, it's just too cold to walk barefoot and your walking boots, which will get wet. Along the way, you will hear stories from the 7th Century, about King (Saint) Oswald, St Aidan and Cuthbert and about the great changes in religion and life from those far off days. You really will be walking in the footsteps of the Saints on this Footsteps walk. Sadly, the seals will be gone from the bay, but they have been replaced by thousands of Autumn migrant birds and we'll have fun spotting them as we splash our way across the Pilgrim's Way and enjoying the terrific views. Once on the Island, we have coffee and cake and then we'll be exploring and discovering some of its wilder corners before walking back to the mainland again on the Pilgrim’s Way.
