Important Note: The drive to Many Glacier (provided by the Glacier Institute) is 3 hours one way.
The Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park is the optimal location to learn about the geology that shaped the park and see iconic glaciers for which the park is named. Participants will learn the defining characteristics of glaciers, where they come from, and how they have changed over time. Participants will not only admire the stunning vistas, but will learn the basic geologic functions that created the stunning peaks, valleys, and lakes that the area is known for. Along one of the popular hikes in the area, your Outdoor Education Specialist will also share in-depth natural history about the local flora and fauna that can be found in this area of the park.
This Glacier Institute course is great for anyone looking to explore a more majestic corner of the park and learn more about the geology, cultural history, and flora/fauna in the park.
Participants are responsible for purchasing their park entry passes prior to the hike. These can be purchased online. A Vehicle Reservation is NOT required. Participation in your hike with the Glacier Institute acts as your Vehicle Reservation. These details will be included in your confirmation email.
