This exhilarating journey will take you deep into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, where you'll witness the majestic beauty of bears in their natural habitat. Your tour begins as you board a state-of-the-art helicopter in Homer.
Some of the highest concentrations of brown bears in the world are located just across Cook Inlet from Homer where two National Parks are located along the western shores. Our bear viewing tour will take you via helicopter from Homer to Bear Mountain Lodge in Chinitna Bay, at the southern end of Lake Clark National Park. In route to Chinitna Bay your pilot will point out multiple active volcanoes including Mt. Augustine and Mt. Iliamna, possibly even Mt. Redoubt in the distance, as well as other points of interests along the way. After arriving on the beach of this scenic bay, you will meet your expert guide from Bear Mountain Lodge who will escort your group by custom 4WD bus/vehicle to locations where you will get out of the vehicle with your guide to view the brown bears up close in their natural environment and observe them as they feed on the abundant resources offered throughout the summer in Alaska. Whether it is salmon from a stream, sedge grasses, wild berries, or clams they dig up from the beaches, these bears will fatten themselves up with nutrient rich food to make it through the Alaska winter.

Your experienced guides will ensure your safety while offering valuable insights into bear behavior and conservation efforts. Watch in awe as these powerful creatures showcase their strength and agility, providing you with a truly remarkable wildlife encounter. During your visit, you'll also have the chance to explore the lodge's surroundings, scenic viewpoints and serene lakes.
