Where We Camp

  • Rios Ranch is a private landholding within Big Bend Ranch State Park. The horses stay within a stone corral, walls that stand 3 feet thick & 4 feet high. You can choose wherever you'd like to set out your bed for the night, and you can't go wrong with wherever you decide. Camp rests beneath a beautiful mountain that glows in the sunrise, and below it is a quaint little creek that once rushed long before our time. Surrounding camp are old Native campgrounds where various tribes made a temporary home near a necessary water source; a great place to explore and see evidence of life long ago. The desert is a hard & challenging place to live, and it's incredible to see the efforts that people made to survive before there were ever phones, A/C, or our other modern conveniences of life that we take for granted every day.

  • An outhouse & a solar shower available at camp

  • If you like your ride, kiss your horse and tip your guide! Gratuity is not included in your total, so please bring cash or let us know to put a tip on your credit card when you pay the balance. Your guides work for tips!
