About

Join us for a transformative nature connection experience in the heart of Glacier National Park, where you'll engage in both nature journaling and forest bathing. This immersive class is designed to help you slow down and deepen your connection to the natural world by focusing on the present moment and using all of your senses. Through guided journaling exercises, you’ll reflect on your observations, thoughts, and emotions, while the practice of forest bathing will encourage you to fully immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of the forest environment. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or a first-time nature observer, this course will help you tap into the restorative power of nature, fostering mindfulness and a renewed sense of wonder.

Itinerary

Subject to change due to trail closures and weather At 9 a.m. we will gather at Field Camp for introductions and course overview. We will stay nearby, as Field Camp is a great location to spread out and connect with the natural world around us. There will be a lunch break. The course will end by 2pm and will not be canceled due to weather.

Physical Requirements:

Easy. We will hike no more than 1 - 2 miles total with under 100 feet of elevation gain.

Park Entrance Fees

Participants are responsible for purchasing their park entry passes prior to the hike. These can be purchased online. A Vehicle Reservation is NOT required. Participation in your hike with the Glacier Institute acts as your Vehicle Reservation. These details will be included in your confirmation email.

What to Bring

  • Trail lunch, plenty of water and snacks for the day
  • Comfortable hiking shoes, at least 1-2 liter water bottle, backpack, rain gear, hat, and sunscreen
  • Weather can be varied so please be prepared with appropriate clothing, especially warm layers for potential snow and high winds
  • Binoculars are very useful, but optional, as well as field guides that interest you
