Ages 3-6 • 8 Weeks • Once you've passed Tiny Tots 2!
In this exciting 8-week skating program, young skaters will master the art of gliding across the ice, learning to maneuver forwards and backwards with proper blade use and knee bend. With supportive coaches and a focus on skill progression, this experience sets the stage for future achievements in skating.
8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
Once skaters are consistently demonstrating basic technique to skate unaided across the width of the rink, they will progress to this level with the goal of learning proper use of the blade and knee bend to gain motion across the ice in both directions, forwards and backwards! Once completing this level, young skaters can progress to Aussie Skate™ Test 2 level.
We provide plenty of coaches to support all skaters and would prefer parents/guardians to support from the sidelines.
Our rinks maintain an air temperature around 10C or less, so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
Dress in layers to stay warm on the ice, and don gloves for comfort and safety.
Wearing gloves helps prevent ice burn and keeps hands warm during practice.
Maintain a slight knee bend and upright posture for better balance and control.
Drink water regularly and rest if feeling tired to stay energized during lessons.
