Ages 3-6 • 8 Weeks • Once you've passed Tiny Tots 2!
In this engaging 8-week ice skating program, young skaters will master the art of gliding forwards and backwards by learning proper blade use and knee bend techniques. With supportive coaches and a focus on skill progression, participants will be well-prepared to advance to the next level of skating excellence.
8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
Once skaters are consistently demonstrating basic technique to skate unaided across the width of the rink, they will progress to this level with the goal of learning proper use of the blade and knee bend to gain motion across the ice in both directions, forwards and backwards! Once completing this level, young skaters can progress to Aussie Skate™ Test 2 level.
We provide plenty of coaches to support all skaters and would prefer parents/guardians to support from the sidelines.
Our rinks maintain an air temperature around 10C or less, so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
Layer up to stay comfortable on the cold ice and protect your hands while skating.
Get fitted for skates and settle in before class begins to maximize your skating time.
Even on the ice, drinking water helps maintain energy levels for young skaters.
Keep knees slightly bent and arms out for better balance on the ice.
Iceworld Boondall has been a community hub for ice sports since it opened in the early 2000s, hosting numerous amateur and professional events.
The rink supports sustainable practices like recycling and energy-efficient lighting to minimize environmental impact.
Layered clothing keeps young skaters warm and comfortable on the ice.
