Meeting at Big Creek Outdoor Education Center
Nine Hours
This class is designed for those that have already taken a Hunter’s Safety Certification course, but are still uncertain about how to go into the woods responsibly and successfully. Hunting is a great way to get connected to the natural world, and we want to help educate new hunters on good practice techniques in hunting with conservation in mind. Join us to go over some reminders on safety in bear country, track identification, animal behavior, staying downwind, and staying quiet. You’ll join Anthony Nelson, executive director for the Glacier Institute, and Riley Dennis, Program Director for the Glacier Institute, for a full day of education. Both Anthony and Riley have hunted their entire lives, and enjoy helping new hunters get started. Their combined expertise is sure to leave participants leaving much more prepared going into hunting season.
