Archeological discoveries at Hopsewee Plantation have allowed us to expand the narrative for the lives of the Hopsewee enslaved people through our new museum.
The musuem is self guided, and the exhibits and artifacts are designed to share the experience of the enslaved West Africans on this historic plantation to include their contributions to the wealth and influence of colonial South Carolina through their knowledge, ingenuity, and labor that helped build our nation.
