Dated approximately 1553 years, these famous Mayan pyramids are built an hour and a half from Merida. The name of Chichén Itzá comes from the Mayan language: Chi is mouth, Chen is well and Itzá is the tribe that inhabited this area. Chichén Itzá was named one of the Seven New Wonders of the World on July 7, 2007. With this appointment Chichén Itzá and the Yucatan Peninsula are in the eyes of the world. The site is divided into three areas: the Toltec-style northern group, the central group of the early period and the third known as the old Chichen.
The pyramids include the now famous Kukulkan pyramid, the temple of warriors, the ball game, the nuns and the snail among others. The sacred cenote is a huge and open cenote like a well where they found ceramics, cloth, gold, jade and skeletons.
One of the wonders of the world that you can not miss. On this excursion we also go through the Dzitnup cenote where you can swim. Then we make a brief tour of the center of the colonial city of Valladolid.
The guided tour takes two hours through the archaeological site. After the tour everyone has time (1 hour) to enjoy the wonders of this city on their own.
This cenote captivates for its beauty. Inside a cavern with stalactites and stalagmites this cenote extends with crystal clear waters. Whoever wants to can take a bath to cool off.
