Visit MANITOGA, the House, Studio and Woodland Garden of pioneer industrial designer, Russel Wright (1904-1976) and his family. Experience Dragon Rock, Wright's experimental home which he built onto the rock ledge of an abandoned quarry while masterfully orchestrating the surrounding landscape into a series of outdoor rooms of varying character and delight.
PLEASE NOTE - all tour programs include a moderate hike through the landscape to get to Dragon Rock (the House & Studio). Visitors must ascend and descend a 40-step stone stair with handrail. This tour includes the interiors of the House, Studio and Design Gallery.

Enjoy an intimate, focused experience of the landscape and architecture that can be tailored to suit your group's interests and/or needs. Larger groups must be split into smaller tour groups due to the sensitive nature of the Landscape and small interior spaces. Please note this tour includes a moderate hike.
All tours include The Russel & Mary Wright Design Gallery at Manitoga, featuring over 200 objects from the Wrights’ ground-breaking designs for the American home.
On view in the House & Studio through Sept 7: All the Light and Shadow All the Light and Shadow, curated by Alyson Baker, Founder and Executive Director of River Valley Arts Collective, features fine and functional objects by artists Stephanie Seal Brown, Zach Hadlock, Jonathan Kline, Alexandra Kohl, Re Jin Lee, Erin Rouse, Katie Strano and Natalia Woodward. The works are made of fiber, wood and clay - materials that are local and sustainable. By limiting the palette to black and white, the works will be visually distinguished and connected while completely integrated into Dragon Rock House and Studio.
Tours are conducted rain or shine. Please wear flat, outdoor-terrain walking shoes for uneven ground and dress appropriately for being outside in the weather.
Insect/tick repellent and drinking water are highly recommended. Picnic tables are available in the Meadow adjacent to the public parking lot, should you wish to picnic before or after your tour. Manitoga’s hiking trails are open daily from dawn to dusk and are accessible from the same parking lot.
Pets, backpacks, large purses and bags, tripods, cumbersome camera equipment, extension poles and selfie-sticks are not permitted.
For safety reasons, children must be at least 10 years old to attend. Infants are not admitted.
Trails are moderate and involve some walking, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
Stay hydrated and protect yourself from sun exposure during outdoor parts of the tour.
