About

This is our favorite tour! One of the most unique experiences in the world, riding down the historic highway built for Model Ts with the spectacular Columbia Gorge unfolding beneath us. We transport our guests and bikes in comfortable vans, and our guides ride with our very small groups. You'll get personal attention and the safest experience we can provide.

We'll meet at our shop in the inner Hawthorne neighborhood, 833 SE Main St #124, and fit you for bikes, then take about a 30 minute drive into the Columbia River Gorge, east of Portland. Here we'll start a stunning overlook of the gorge, getting on our bikes and riding along the Historic Columbia River Highway to other viewpoints and points of interest. About four miles (6.5 km) of biking along gentle, curving, scenic up and downhills leads us to our favorite waterfall hikes. After this, we'll ride another two to three miles (3 - 5 km) to another viewpoint of the Columbia Gorge. Some of our guides will take the option of a longer cycling experience, with guest agreement. No matter which route, this tour visits some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state.

Like no other active tour of the gorge, we tell the stories that are just beginning to awaken from this place. Beyond the 180 years of pioneers and loggers, before the century-old highway, this was the land of people with a rich mythology. We tell the stories that have been told to us by the indigenous people as best we can. But what's most important, we remember the long long history this place holds.

Our tour also provides the most active hiking of any daily tours to the Columbia Gorge.
