The back roads of West Windsor offer some of the best gravel biking in Central Vermont. Luckily for us, these roads are just down the road from Harpoon Brewery and Taproom!
After 2 miles of riding on Route 5 (speed limit 50mph) you'll roll through historic downtown Windsor and visit the impressive Cornish-Windsor covered bridge before climbing out of the Connecticut River Valley on quiet back roads. Views of Mount Ascutney abound on your way to this route's lone pit stop: Brownsville Butcher & Pantry.
The Butcher & Pantry has everything you could possibly need from fried chicken sandwiches and beer on tap to mouth-watering maple creemees and snacks galore. There’s even a spot to get in the river behind the building! What more could you want in the middle of your ride? Nothing! The answer is nothing.
After fueling up, you’ll choose between the Harpoon Short (23 miles) or Harpoon Long (29 miles) route. Either way there is plenty of scenic farmland, quiet back roads, and lush forest to soak up on your way back to the brewery.
