Departing from Toowoomba, enjoy a spooky ride to Drayton Station, complete with a Best Dress Competition for creative costumes. This Halloween, climb aboard DownsSteam’s historic steam train for a frightfully fun evening like no other! Departing Toowoomba Railway Station at 6:00 PM, you’ll steam through the night to our Drayton Station and Museum for a spooky stop before returning to Toowoomba at 8:00 PM.

Guests are invited to dress up in their most creative, eerie, or fun Halloween costumes for the Best Dress Competition, judged by our DownsSteam crew. Prizes include:

1st Place: $200 DownsSteam voucher

2nd Place: $100 DownsSteam voucher

3rd Place: $50 DownsSteam voucher

With the sights and sounds of a living steam locomotive, a festive atmosphere, and plenty of family-friendly Halloween fun, this is an experience not to be missed. Whether you’re a ghost, ghoul, or superhero, you’ll enjoy a magical night of steam, scares, and smiles.

Please plan to arrive at Toowoomba Railway Station at least 30 minutes before departure.

Infants under 2 years old who are not occupying a seat travel free; however, if you would like to reserve a seat for your infant under 2 years old, please book as a child fare.

Minors of 16 and under may be booked under a child’s seat and must be accompanied by an adult.

Light refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase from the station café and the visitor souvenir shop will also be open.

Please note: due to the heritage nature of our coaches some seats may not have windows (as noted on seat maps and tickets), guests are highly encouraged to select their own seats when booking.

Due the nature of the online booking system, please review your seat allocations to ensure groups are seated together.

We will endeavour to honour advance seating requests, however, we cannot guarantee any particular seat. We reserve the right to assign or reassign seats at any time, even after boarding the train. This may be necessary for operational, safety, security or other reasonable reasons.
