About

Seward is one of Alaska's premier sportfishing destinations. Fishing in Seward is an experience every outdoor enthusiast should have at least once in their life. Seward sits at the head of Resurrection Bay surrounded by the Kenai Fjord National Park and the Chugach National Forest. It is without doubt the most popular fishing spot in this part of Alaska and known for its salmon runs during the summer season where you can target the best saltwater species in the Last Frontier like Red (Sockeye), Silver (Coho), Pink (Humpy), King (Chinook) and Chum (Dog) salmon.

The season typically starts in May and runs through September, peaking during the summer months. Fishing license is not included and you will need to purchase it on line at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=sportlicense.main

Join us for a Guided Salmon Shore Fishing experience, a great option for beginners!!

What to Expect

  • What Kind of Fish?  Depending on the time of the season will determine what species of fish you will be able to target. The most popular fish to be caught in Resurrection Bay is Sockeye (Red) Salmon and Coho (Silver) Salmon. The best chance for Sockeye Salmon will be from mid to late May - end of July. The best chance to catch Coho Salmon is beginning of Aug - mid Sept and Pink (Humpy) Salmon will typically bridge the gap between the other species.
  • What Kind of Fishing?  What you are targeting will determine your fishing technique. Snagging is a unique fishing style that is only permissible in select parts of the world, and we use this style for most of our salmon fishing. When the Silvers are in, our guides will typically switch to throwing lures.
  • What do I do with all of this Fish I caught?  Our Guides will fillet all of the fish you caught and show you where you can take it to get fully processed and shipped home!

Please Note: Tides affect our desired fishing timing and also our success at catching fish! Check-in time varies based on tides. We will confirm your start time closer to your fishing date. Call us with questions.
