Due to our high elevation, the Breckenridge, Winter Park, Frisco, and Vail areas are some of the first places in the country where the leaves begin to change color. We start to see the fall colors turn in early to mid-September. That is when it's best to head the trails and embark on scenic hikes to see the vibrant colors of green, orange, and yellow coming together on hillsides, valleys, and around town.
Experience a walk in the woods on an iconic trail. Our trail options provide great views and different experiences for hikers of all levels.
