3 hours
You should have a moderate level of fitness: able to scramble short sections, stand for instruction, and manage stairs/uneven rock for short periods.
Learn to climb and abseil on the sandstone cliffs of the Grampians/Gariwerd in a focused three-hour session. Ideal for beginners and families, this guided experience teaches core rope skills while placing you on some of Victoria’s most dramatic rock faces.
The wind finds the edges first — a dry scrape across the sandstone that frames Halls Gap — and then you do. By the time the group tightens harness buckles at the gravel lot beside Delleys Bridge, the cliffs of the Grampians/Gariwerd are already asserting themselves: banded layers of ancient sand frozen into faces that beg to be climbed and, later, trusted for descent.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before start to sign waivers and let guides check gear; parking at Delleys Bridge is small.
Wear sturdy approach shoes or light hiking boots with sticky soles—no open-toed footwear allowed.
Bring a wide-brim hat and sunscreen; sessions are best in morning or late afternoon during summer.
Declare any back, neck, or recent injuries during booking—activities are not suitable for some medical conditions.
Gariwerd has been home to the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung peoples for tens of thousands of years; rock shelters in the ranges contain cultural markings and archaeological sites.
The park receives high visitor numbers—stick to marked approaches, avoid chalking rock, and follow Leave No Trace principles to protect fragile vegetation and cultural sites.
Good traction and ankle support make scrambling and small climbs safer and more comfortable.
Carry water, snacks, sunscreen and a light jacket without impeding movement.
The exposed sandstone reflects heat—protect skin and eyes during midday sessions.
