Discover the breathtaking and dynamic beauty of Mount St. Helens, the most notable volcano in the contiguous United States, with The Bronze Chapter, Nick Zentner, captivating Senior Lecturer of Geology at Central Washington University and much loved host of PBS’s Nick on the Rocks, and Dr. Hannah Shamloo, engaging Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at Central Washington University.
We created these BIPOC geology camps as an exciting way to connect more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and their families to the natural world and mind-blowing stories that Washington State's stunning landscape yearns for us to hear. The camps are all-inclusive, so you're free to fully enjoy our time together.
Expect fresh perspectives about everything you see, and maybe even yourself. We promise you an engaging, transformative, and memorable experience that's loaded with connection and discovery.
Event Dates: August 15 - 17, 2025. Arrival: August 15 at 3pm. Departure: August 17 at 11am. Location: Science and Learning Center, Toutle, WA Adult and Youth Event Fee: $485 per person for those able to pay the true cost | $250 per person for those needing financial assistance.
