Stroll through the streets of the Garden District lined with beautiful historic mansions and ancient love oak trees. Learn about this lush neighborhood that was a French plantation and then settled by the Americans as the town of Lafayette, and now has a few stars living among the locals. We will also pass historic Lafayette #1 cemetery, learn burial traditions in New Orleans and see where some famous films were shot.
Please bring an umbrella, raincoat, comfy shoes and a bottle of water on the hot days.
We will be meeting outside of "The Rink" shopping center by "The Chicory House" cafe at 2727 Prytania Street(zipcode 70130), which is on the corner of Washington Avenue and Prytania St.
Streets are primarily paved but uneven; good shoes improve comfort and safety.
