The weather in Northern California is generally warm and sunny in the summer months, but can be unpredictable so please bring an extra layer of polypropylene or wool for warmth on spring days. All rafters should wear sandals that strap on your feet or tennis shoes with rubber bottoms, sorry but flip flops can not be worn on whitewater trips. Participants should wear clothes suitable for swimming, as well as bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
Bring plenty of water and sip regularly—whitewater paddling can be surprisingly dehydrating.
Wear quick-drying layers and be prepared to get soaked navigating rapids and swimming holes.
Follow river safety briefings carefully to navigate rapids confidently and prevent accidents.
Use waterproof cases or leave electronics behind; the river offers memorable shots, but gear must be safe.
The Trinity River corridor has been home to indigenous communities for centuries, with the river serving as both a resource and a transportation route.
