About 3 Hours
##About Mere minutes from the hustle of downtown Portland, the wooded wonderland of Forest Park awaits you. Boasting over 5,200 acres of lush greenery and 70 miles of pristine trails, Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the U.S. - and, in my humble opinion, the best.
In this guided tour with a local expert, you'll hike among a grand display of biodiversity - including majestic Douglas Fir, stunning Bigleaf Maple, whispering Western Hemlock, and mighty Oregon White Oak. Hikers will enjoy jaw-dropping views (weather-depending) of the Cascade mountain range and the Willamette River that runs through Portland.
Other points of interest along our hike include Portland's storied Witch’s Castle and historic Pittock Mansion. Outside the Mansion, we’ll stop for a picnic of local goodies, restroom breaks, and Insta-worthy photo ops before returning to our starting point.
What To Bring:

Stay hydrated and energized, especially as there are no shops along the trail.
Forest Park has many mosquitoes and ticks, especially in warmer months.
There are excellent photo spots at Witch’s Castle and Pittock Mansion you won’t want to miss.
Pittock Mansion, built in 1914, showcases early 20th-century Portland architecture and offers a glimpse into the city's rich past.
Forest Park is carefully managed to protect its native ecosystems, with programs aimed at invasive species removal and habitat restoration.
Provides grip and support on forest trails and uneven ground.
