Tour Location This tour visits pizzerias in Greenwich Village. You'll receive the exact starting point in your ticket confirmation. The tour ends about 10 minutes from its starting point but since our pizzerias change every time you won't know the exact ending point until you're on the tour.

About this Tour From coal-fired brick ovens to corner slice shops, this tour follows the evolution of pizza by visiting 3 incredible NYC pizzerias. Your guide will take you behind the scenes where you'll meet the pizza makers and assorted characters behind the city's top shops.

The Greenwich Village tour starts at a coal-fired pizzeria that has been around since 1915. You'll learn about NYC's pizza origins by way of a rarely discussed pizzeria lineage. From there, your guide will select two additional pizzerias in the Greenwich Village neighborhood that exhibit distinct styles. We carefully select neighborhoods that are pizza-dense, pizza-diverse, and pizza-delicious. That means your tour will be a unique combination of pizzerias based on what your guide prescribes.

Our tours area all about pizza. We don't stop and talk about history unless it's relevant to the development of pizza. We are specialists, and that's why our tours are so in-depth. You won't think about pizza the same way ever again!

Your Guide We don't hire standard tour guides, we bring on specialists. Everyone on our team not only has a passion for pizza, but also a deep bank of knowledge. Our founder Scott regularly leads the crew in continuing education sessions, whereby he shares new insights into historical research, pizza science, and the latest happenings in the pizza industry. Every guide is licensed as a sightseeing guide by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.

Tickets We offer instant confirmation via email! No need to print your ticket, just show us the confirmation email and you'll be set. ADVANCE PURCHASE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, as tours usually sell out in advance. Kids under 4 are welcome to join for free but won't receive their own slice so be prepared to share.

What's Included? All tours include a full slice at every stop, pizzeria tours, in-depth pizza analysis, and everybody gets a Pocket Pizza Journal to keep track of tasting notes. We'll hook you up with water at most stops, but you're welcome to purchase beer, wine, or soft drinks.

What's Not Included? Beer, wine, and soft drinks are not included. Your guide will be happy to recommend beverage pairings at each stop. Gratuities for your tour guide are not required, but always appreciated.

Weather & Attire All tours run rain or shine. Tour itineraries may change if weather becomes a problem but we will always run complete tours. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately, as we will be outside for most of the tour.

What To Bring? We strongly recommend bringing a refillable container for water. We discourage the use of bottled water, as New York’s tap water is among the cleanest and tastiest in the country. It's a good idea to bring cash if you'd like to purchase drinks along the way or tip your guide.

Accessibility This tour is wheelchair accessible. Restrooms will also be available to customers at all pizzerias.

Dietary Restrictions Our tours feature a comparison of cheese pizzas, which means everything we serve will be made of dough, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese. All public tours are vegetarian! While we cannot provide slices to fit dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten free, tomatophobic) we will do our best to route the tour to at least 1 pizzeria that serves something you can eat. You will be able to purchase pizza to fit your dietary restriction. We'll also give you a discount code to knock down your ticket price. Please email us in advance!

Cancellation Policy Tours run rain or shine. If your plans change and you're unable to attend the tour, just follow the directions at the bottom of your confirmation email and we'll take care of you.
