What should I pack for my trip? There is nothing you “must” bring other than warm clothing, but there are a few essential items you may want to remember to make your fishing experience much more enjoyable.

Proper Clothing – In Fall & winter, layered clothing is the only way to go while salmon or steelhead fishing. Basic layering for Oregon weather and cold conditions is strongly suggested. Layered clothing is essential while fishing as temperature swings from morning to afternoon can be quite drastic.

Waders / Wading Boots – Waders are definitely something to consider, giving you the ability to jump out of the boat and fight a big fish from the bank, which can make the difference between landing it or not. Another advantage of having waders on is they make awesome rain gear from the waist down. For wading boots, felt or rubber soled is a good idea.

Head gear – In colder conditions and chilly mornings a knit cap to keep your head warm is a necessity. Whatever you do don’t forget your hat!

Eye wear – Polarized sunglasses are a must

Sunscreen / Lip ointment – Sun Screen is important to avoid getting burnt while fishing. You never know what the conditions will be, so it’s good to be prepared.

Life Jacket – Provided

Rods and Reels – All fishing equipment, bait & tackle is included.

Licenses/Tags – You may want to purchase an Oregon angling license ahead of time online at Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife online license sales (purchased online). Don’t forget to choose the option “instant delivery” and print the documents out if you are purchasing online less than 10 days before your departure date. You may also purchase locally from one of the retailers listed below, and must have a salmon & steelhead tag.
