About

The city is intersected by a winding river, with plenty of islands connected with the mainland by countless bridges. Splendidly reconstructed after the II World War, Wroclaw is also called “the Polish Venice” or “Pearl of Lower Silesia”!

Wroclaw city tour starts in the Old Town, splendidly reconstructed after the II World War, where you can admire a fine example of the Gothic architecture – the Town Hall of Wroclaw. You will have a stroll around the Old Town till you reach the impressive Museum of Wroclaw University. Inside you will discover beautifully decorated baroque interiors, including the famous Leopoldine Hall. At the end, you will admire the panormama of the city from the university’s tower – a former atronomical observatory (closed on Wednesdays). The university takes pride in its alumni – 11 Nobel Prize winners studied or worked there. One of them is Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk, who received this prestigious award in 2019.

Ostrow Tumski The most important sight of this former island is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Be impresed by Gothic architecture and the largest pipe organ in Poland. See numerous bridges connecting islands with the rest of the city. The most famous one – Tumski bridge – is cherished by lovers who embellish it with lockers commemorating their love.

Centennial Hall Enormous building on UNESCO Heritage List. Bulit in the early 20th century, it is a place of important events, exhibitions and congresses. Just outside you will find illuminated fountain, the biggest in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe. It has 300 water jets, which create geysers, water mists, spurts and many other shapes. Water shows take place every day and are accompanied by classic, modern or pop music.
