Spend a full day of exploring two of Vancouver’s most treasured natural settings. Our first destination is the breathtaking water views from Lighthouse Park, home of the oldest and biggest Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir trees in the area. Our 2-hour hike covers just over 6km, and the natural beauty will take your breath away. After our hike, we will make the scenic drive back to Vancouver over the Lions Gate Bridge to Spanish Banks beach where we will stop for a delicious and healthy lunch. • For hikes, proper shoes such as running shoes, or hiking footwear with good support is mandatory.
  • A day backpack to carry your personal belongings.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for sun protection.
  • Camera or phone to take pictures.
  • Cash or credit cards for purchases along the way.

Adventure Tips

Pack layers for variable weather

Vancouver’s coastal climate can shift quickly; wearing moisture-wicking layers helps you stay comfortable during both hiking and biking segments.

Bring a reusable water bottle

Hydration is key especially when hiking Grouse Mountain and cycling Stanley Park’s lengthy seawall routes.

Use helmet and safety gear

Helmet use is mandatory while biking Stanley Park to ensure safety on busy shared pathways.

Plan for urban wildlife encounters

Stay alert for local wildlife such as birds and marine mammals without disturbing their natural behaviors.
