We do offer tours year-round - the colors inside the canyon are still there during the winter months - it's just a matter of knowing your camera - most are under the impression you "have" to be in the canyon at a particular time - in our opinion - this is not true - the canyon is beautiful at all tour time - they are all unique.

About

This tour offers you a fully guided tour into the Upper Antelope Canyon. Plenty of time for everyone to take photos on this tour and also enough time for you to experience the canyon.

From our office location in the city of Page AZ we will transport you to the canyon in our trucks (your vehicle stays at our office location), the drive to the canyon takes 20 minutes, about this drive to the canyon, half of this drive is smooth, the remaining half involves a dirt road - this dirt road can vary in bumpiness, most of the time the road is mild bumpy, there's also the chance the road can be medium-level with bumpy. If you've had recent back surgery this may not be for you.

Once we arrive at the canyon you will come off the truck and walk through the sandstone walls of the canyon with your guide. This is a fully guided tour from start to finish - you are in a group the entire time. After completing the walk through the canyon we now take a hike up and over the canyon (note you are not seeing down into the canyon), the new hike does Not involve dangerous heights but you will be out in the elements so please be prepared for hot summer days or cold winter days. In total, the walk through the canyon is a quarter-mile, we can be inside the canyon for roughly 40 minutes - the return hike is a half-mile return walk and this needs to be completed in 15-20 minutes.

  • No opaque bags
  • No Strollers
  • No selfie sticks.
  • No tripods or monopods
  • We have a CLEAR BAG policy, if you have a clear bag all items must be visible - We DO NOT allow purses or fanny packs. The purpose of this clear bag is to carry water and any other important items like medicine or pocketbooks. You CANNOT put your opaque bags(s) in the clear bag.... all items must be visible.
  • a clear water bottle would be best, but it's okay if it is not, it must be inspected before getting on our tour truck.
  • You Cannot follow us in your vehicle; You will be transported to the canyon in our Authorized Tour Trucks.
  • Everyone must be able to complete the walk/hike (more details below)
  • Time is limited, we no longer accommodate wedding-type photos and or groups hiring a professional photographer to take photos of the group.
  • Best to wear closed-toe shoes, sometimes the sand can be hot, and mind the tiny lifeforms.
  • A signed waiver of liability is required to join the tour.
  • The Navajo Nation Tribal Parks has a zero-pet policy.
  • You can bring water, a camera, and walking sticks, and may we suggest cash, in case you want to tip your tour guide.
  • The Navajo Nation Mask Mandate is no longer in effect - wearing a mask is optional.

#CRUCIAL DETAILS ABOUT THE HIKE UP AND OVER. In total, the tour involves .75 miles of walking/hiking. The first .25 mile is an easy walk through the canyon - the remaining portion involves the New Hike, this might be a challenge for some - video of hike, please take this into consideration for your friends and family. Summer days are HOT (Extreme heat is possible), and Winter days are cold. One last bit of information, the walk does involve soft sand, it is proving to be a challenge for some.

Know your limits, timing-wise we need to keep a nice pace, taking too much time on the hike up and over will delay operation and affect the next tour time. We would like everyone to complete this hike in less than 15 MINUTES. If you've recently had knee, back, hip surgery you may want to reconsider this hike. We've been told by the Navajo Nation to maintain a one-way path - because of that, the tour is not wheelchair accessible, sorry but we cannot make the tour easier.

Dusty conditions: We advise dressing your camera in a rain jacket (not for actual rain) to avoid the falling sand that is thrown in the canyon. Changing your lens in the canyon is at your own risk - we are not responsible for damaged cameras. The Sightseer's Tour: You can take photos.

Weather: Please visit weather.com and check out the expected weather at least 2 or 3 days prior to when you're to arrive, be prepared for weather that can be either cold or hot, and come with layers.

When is a Good Time to Go

Any time, the colors change in the canyon throughout the day. Regardless of which tour time, you will have color inside the canyon - the ambient glow is there - even in the winter months. However, if your main goal is to see the light beams coming into the canyon this is best from April through August - does one need a light beam to enjoy their experience in the canyon? the experience is great no matter what time of the year you want to go.

With today's camera technology, anyone and everyone can walk away with very nice photos. One final thought, just being inside this wonderful creation is worth it, photos are good for memories but what you see visually with your own eyes is an experience. The same goes for whatever time of the year, visiting Antelope Canyon in the Fall / Winter seasons is still well worth the trip - the canyon is always beautiful.

Do know Arizona does experience a monsoon season - end of July, August, and sometimes into September - all depending, some tours might be canceled the day of, there is absolutely No Way to predict this in advance, it's just a risk everyone takes during these months - average amount of closures a year due to flooding can be around 5 days out of the year.
