Bilingual Fairy Trail – Music storytelling and songs
Step into the world of the fairies or ‘na daoine maithe’ on this magical fairy trail experience where you will meet the Tuatha Dé Danann; the magical and mythical fairy people of Ireland. Finish the trail in 'the otherworld' where children can dance to traditional music, join arts and crafts workshops and take part in traditional games.
The trail - 7 stops
Dian Cecht (druid, wizard) with the Coire Draíochta – Magic Cauldron
The Coire will contain a magical message written in Ogham.
Bríd (playing an instrument) - three branch crosses for the children to place under the fairy tree.
Lugh with the Gae Assall or spear of light. He will give the children sunstones to place under the fairy tree.
The Morrigan – triple goddess – Badhbha, Macha and Nemhain – also appears as a crow. They will meet the crow who will sing the song of the Morrigan and give them a crow feather to place under the tree.
Mannán Mac Lir – God of the sea, he will give the children shells to place under the fairy tree.
Eriú – the fairy goddess who gave Ireland her name – Éire. She will give the children a gift from the earth to place under the fairy tree.
The Dagda will appear under the fairy tree, he will help the children place their gifts there and he will deliver their wishes to the otherworld.
A magical fairyland experience. Families will enter the otherworld via the fairy trail where families can enjoy arts & crafts, live music, face painting and traditional games.
