Our journey North begins...

Start your adventure at Taste Perthshire, a fantastic stop for food, local goods, and a chance to meet Scotland’s most iconic residents—the Highland Cows. These gentle, shaggy-haired creatures are a beloved symbol of the country, and here you can get up close to see them in all their fluffy glory.

Leaving Perthshire behind, travel deep into the Scottish Highlands, where the landscape transforms into dramatic peaks, vast moors, and deep glens. Along the way, the scenery becomes increasingly wild and awe-inspiring, with winding roads leading past mirror-like lochs and remote villages. The Highlands are steeped in history and legend, with stories of ancient clans, fierce battles, and enduring traditions woven into every valley. Keep an eye out for red deer grazing on the hillsides and golden eagles soaring overhead as you make your way through this untamed land.

Arriving in the charming village of Fort Augustus, set at the southern tip of the legendary Loch Ness, take a moment to explore its picturesque canals and stone cottages before embarking on a cruise across the famous loch. As the boat glides through the dark waters, listen to tales of the mysterious Loch Ness Monster, a legend that has captivated the world for centuries. Whether you’re scanning the water for signs of Nessie or simply enjoying the peaceful beauty of the surrounding mountains, this cruise offers a unique perspective on one of Scotland’s most iconic locations. Continue through the Highlands to the majestic Glen Coe, one of Scotland’s most dramatic and storied landscapes. Towering mountains rise steeply on either side of the glen, their rugged cliffs shaped by ancient volcanic activity and glaciers. The sheer scale and raw beauty of this place are humbling, with every turn in the road revealing another breathtaking view. But Glen Coe is not only famous for its scenery—it is also a place of deep historical significance. The tragic Massacre of Glencoe in 1692, where members of the MacDonald clan were killed by government forces, still echoes through the valley, adding a haunting poignancy to its beauty.

Take some time here to breathe in the crisp Highland air, and soak in the timeless atmosphere of this legendary glen. We will then continue our journey south and back to Edinburgh.

What to bring

It is always advisable to be prepared for any weather in Scotland so a jacket is always a good idea! A bottle of water for hydration and a camera to capture the spectacular views and you are set to go! It is not necessary for you to bring your own meals, as we will stop throughout the day in small towns or villages where you can purchase food, however you are more than welcome to bring along snacks or a packed lunch.
