Enjoy a scenic bike ride followed by a peaceful hike, crossing creeks and soaking in the natural springs. This unforgettable adventure combines nature, history, and relaxation in one remarkable trip.

The Olympic Hot Springs The natural springs are now accessible through a (Unconventional Walking by-pass trail) that goes around the road wash out. It’s mostly paved road going up to them with a few creeks crossing on the trail parts. The view you get on this trail is unbeatable! Going along the river and through the lower foothills, you get the amazing feeling of having the country all to yourself. See the beautiful Glines Canyon, home to the largest dam removal in modern history!

The pools are very enjoyable to soak in and feel amazing after the beautiful ride. With Pedego’s powerful motors, you can cruise up hills with ease and save your energy for the destination at the springs. 10pm is the latest time slot for this trail!

The National Park does not allow bikes to be ridden the entire way to the Hot Springs. The bikes may be ridden to the Boulder Creek Trailhead (8 miles) where renters can lock the bikes to a tree (bike locks included with rental/tour). The rest of the trail (2.4 miles) must be hiked on foot. There is minimal elevation gain on this trail with three creek crossings.

Miles on Bike: 8 miles

Departing from the Madison Falls trailhead, rider will ride a half mile to the bypass trail, proceed to walk the bike through the bypass trail around the road wash out, and continue to ride up to the beautiful Glines Canyon where the old upper Elwha dam site is located. Then, the trip will continue to ride the rest of the way to the Boulder Creek Trailhead.

Walking Miles: 2.4 miles

Parking the bikes at the Boulder Creek Trailhead, the bikers walk the rest of the trail to the Olympic Hot Springs on foot (2.4 miles).

Total Trail Miles: 21 Miles Round Trip

Unguided Trip Time: 5.5hrs

Adventure Tips

Arrive early for orientation

Check in 30 minutes before your scheduled rental to complete waivers and get an eBike orientation ensuring a smooth start.

Prepare for creek crossings

Be ready to carefully cross three creeks on foot; sturdy, closed-toe shoes are a must to navigate slippery rocks safely.

Lock your bike securely

Bikes must be locked at Boulder Creek Trailhead before the hiking portion; use the provided bike lock to prevent loss.

Pack swimwear and a towel

Bring swim apparel to fully enjoy soaking in the natural hot springs after your ride and hike.
