The guide will break up the 1-hour 20-minute drive with a scenic stop at Whiffin Spit, located in Sooke BC. This oddly named destination has a bathroom for guests to use and beautiful ocean views. A stop at a fun local cafe to grab our delectable lunches allows guests to experience a true West Coast vibe. Our arrival time at Mystic Beach parking will be approximately 10 am. There is an infamous 2 km hike through second-growth red cedar, Sitka spruce, and Douglas fir. Once at the white sand beach guests have ample time to explore the waterfall and cave at low tide. At 2 pm we will set out on the 2 km inclined hike back to the parking lot. Return time at the pick-up location is between 4-5 pm.
The trail includes moderate elevation changes and some slippery sections near the waterfall; good footwear ensures safety.
While lunch is included, having additional water and snacks keeps energy up during the 7-hour adventure.
Coastal weather can shift quickly; layers and waterproof gear help keep you comfortable.
Stay on the trail and avoid disturbing flora and fauna, preserving the forest’s delicate ecosystem.
