About Key West Art & Historical Society, Inc.
Key West Art & Historical Society, Inc. preserves and shares Key West’s cultural and maritime heritage through multiple historic sites and museum experiences in Key West, Florida. The organization operates the Key West Museum of Art & History at the Custom House, a landmark on Mallory’s historic seaport that has welcomed visitors since 1891. The Custom House presents two floors of rotating and permanent exhibitions that bridge two centuries of regional art, history, and culture.
The Society also maintains the Key West Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters Museum, where visitors climb 88 steps to the island’s highest point and explore period rooms and keeper stories. The Lighthouse Sunset Experience offers 90 minutes of private access with a complimentary bottle of wine and a charcuterie board for intimate sunset viewing. Lighthouse Wedding Photos provide a one-hour session on elegant grounds ideal for portraiture.
Fort East Martello Museum interprets Civil War–era fortifications and local industries, with exhibits on wrecking and cigar manufacturing, plus metal sculptures by Stanley Papio and the famed Robert the Doll. The Tennessee Williams Museum preserves the writer’s local legacy and is open daily, offering context on his life and influence.
