About

At the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, we invite Girl Scouts to discover the unconventional life of Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, the daughter, debutante, wife, adventurer, and artist who became the first Girl Scout. Together, your troop will explore Juliette Gordon Low’s girlhood home, play one of her favorite parlor games, and look closely at how she challenged expectations for women in her day to become a confident leader.

As part of your three-hour troop visit you will:

  • experience Juliette Gordon Low’s home on a fascinating tour filled with sights, stories, and activities.
  • connect the past to the present with a fun, hands-on activity session.
  • explore the museum store, where you’ll find the perfect souvenir of your visit.
  • enjoy our garden, where you can gather for the perfect Girl Scout photo.
  • end with a troop-led Girl Scouts’ Own and pinning ceremony to celebrate your time at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace.

House For All Girls (recommended for all levels)

Since opening to Girl Scouts in 1956 the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace was meant to be a “house for all girls.” How do we make sure we’re meeting that goal?

Like Juliette Gordon Low always said, “Ask the girls!” What does it mean to make all girls feel welcome and included? If you were an architect, an interior designer, or a community planner, how would you design a place where anyone could feel comfortable, welcome, and included? Sometimes it means making big changes! Other times small changes can make a big difference.

In this session, you’ll team up with your fellow Girl Scouts to use a game format to design a welcoming place to live, work, and play for your imaginary clients. Along the way, you’ll find out some fascinating facts about inclusive design that might just help you make the world a better place!
