At the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, we invite Girl Scouts to discover the unconventional life of Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, the daughter, debutante, wife, adventurer, and artist who became the first Girl Scout. Together, your troop will explore Juliette Gordon Low’s girlhood home, play one of her favorite parlor games, and look closely at how she challenged expectations for women in her day to become a confident leader.
As part of your three-hour troop visit you will:
• experience Juliette Gordon Low’s home on a fascinating tour filled with sights, stories, and activities. • connect the past to the present with a fun, hands-on activity session. • explore the museum store, where you’ll find the perfect souvenir of your visit. • enjoy our garden, where you can gather for the perfect Girl Scout photo. • end with a troop-led Girl Scouts’ Own and pinning ceremony to celebrate your time at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace.

From a young age Juliette Low discovered she had a passion for art and storytelling – a passion she shared with the earliest Girl Scout troops. Inspired by the work of Juliette Gordon Low and women artists of the Progressive Era, participants will take on the role of a member of an artist collective preparing for an exhibition. At the end of the session, participants will receive a take-home activity with guidelines on hosting an art show.
