Spend the morning with a local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal tour guide along the coastal habitats learning about the environment, different foods and medicines utilised from nature, sample some bush tucker, collect shellfish and try traditional Aboriginal hunting practices, have a go at spear throwing and if you are lucky, catch a mud crab. Visit the Mossman Gorge the southern section of the Daintree rainforest to complete the adventure and cool off in a pristine freshwater stream.
Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated during the walk, as humidity levels can be high in the rainforest.
Use closed-toe shoes with good grip to navigate slippery rainforest trails safely.
