For a challenging adventure, which provides in-depth exploration of snow-covered areas inaccessible by walking, you have found your tour. We will take you to the wintry wonderland of the Glen Alps just east of Anchorage where a colossal, glaciated valley awaits. After a quick introduction, or refresher, to the elements of snowshoeing, we will hit the snow-packed trail and head to South Fork Campbell Creek, draining through the heart of the valley.
After crossing the creek, we will drift in between hemlock forests and snow-covered alpine meadows, pausing to take photos of magnificent sights. We will take note of the tracks we see, and seek out wildlife like moose, snowshoe hare, and birds. Several peaks dominate the landscape for our viewing pleasure and camera lenses. Please Note: Our guides are avalanche safety certified, ensuring your well-being while providing education on how to carefully travel in hazardous environments. If there is not enough snow accumulation to go snowshoeing, we will go winter hiking, or you can opt for a full refund. This is to be determined by the morning of your tour. Also, we offer this tour as private party, only. This ensures your experience is solely dedicated to you, without the interruption of opposing skill sets. You should have a small amount of hiking experience, or be in good physical condition, before attempting this tour. At a minimum, you should be able to walk at least 8 miles on flat pavement, or 5 miles of uneven rolling terrain over the course of 4 hours. You should also be able to easily climb many flights of stairs over the duration of the hike. Many parts of trail are steep and hilly, placing additional stress on areas of the body not impacted by level terrain. Not recommended for those with cardiac or respiratory issues/illness. May be difficult for those with severe joint issues.

Non-Private Bookings: Pick-up is at the Egan Center on 5th Ave in Downtown Anchorage.
Private Parties: We will pick you up from where ever you are staying, as long as it is in Anchorage.
