This enchanting steam-powered journey along the picturesque Greenbrier River features decorated, heated coaches and a special surprise gift for every child. Enjoy festive activities, visits from Santa, and a dazzling display of lights in the charming town of Cass.

Description

Enjoy a ride on the Cass Scenic Railroad this holiday season during Christmas at Cass! Your steam powered journey will depart the Cass depot and travel along the scenic Greenbrier River. This excursion will last approximately 75 to 90 minutes and will feature decorated & heated coaches. Limited seating will also be available inside our historic Chesapeake & Ohio caboose at the rear of the train! Each child will receive a special surprise gift during the ride, which is included in the ticket price.

The Cass Scenic Railroad State Park and Friends of Cass will be offering a variety of activities and events throughout the weekend, including visits from Santa!

During the evening, watch as the town of Cass and Greenbrier River Trail come alive with thousands of lights!

A full schedule of Christmas at Cass related events will be announced by the Friends of Cass soon.

Important Seating Note:

The Cass Christmas Train features enclosed cars. When booking seats in Coach Car 3607 and Coach Car 202, you will choose seats at traditional 4-top tables. When booking seats in Coach Car 835, you will choose seats in a bus-style format (i.e., two seats positioned together on either side of an aisle, all forward-facing). Coach Cars 3607 and 835 contain restrooms. Coach Car 202 DOES NOT contain a restroom. When booking Caboose 90658, seating will not be assigned, and passengers will choose their own seats once aboard the caboose. Please note that Caboose 90658 DOES NOT contain a restroom, and passengers WILL NOT be able to leave the caboose throughout the duration of the trip.

PET POLICY:

  • We DO NOT allow pets on any of our excursions.
  • Service animals which are required due to a disability are allowed.

ADA INFO:

  • Due to the historical nature of the train cars, the Cass Christmas Train is not wheelchair accessible. There are multiple steps to board the train, but there are handrails to help.

The heated coaches and limited caboose seating fill up quickly during the holiday season so reserve your spot well in advance.

Dress in Layers

Even inside heated cars, temperatures can be chilly when boarding or disembarking—layer up to stay comfortable.

Note Accessibility Limitations

The historic train cars have multiple steps and are not wheelchair accessible, so plan accordingly if mobility is a concern.

No Pets Allowed Except Service Animals

To maintain comfort and safety onboard, only service animals are permitted on the train; plan pet care before you arrive.
