Event Details

  • Ski or snowshoe Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski Area this Christmas under the the warm glow of candlelight. It is a New Mexican Christmas tradition to place luminarias or farolitos (paper bags with sand and a lighted candle inside) around houses and along streets.
  • There is plenty of light to see the trails and if it begins to snow the effect is just incredible. Quite possibly the most beautiful cross country ski experience in North America.
  • Includes complimentary green chile stew, posole, cookies and hot drinks!

Adventure Tips

Dress in Warm Layers

Temperatures can drop quickly after dark; bringing moisture-wicking base layers and a warm mid-layer ensures comfort while skiing or snowshoeing.

Use LED Headlamps for Safety

While the trails are lit with luminaria, having a headlamp provides extra visibility on darker sections and keeps your path clear.

Stay on Marked Trails

Respect trail markings to protect the delicate winter ecosystem and avoid getting lost in the forest.

Bring Water and Snacks

Cold weather can mask dehydration; keep hydrated and energized with water and easy snacks during your outing.
