About

Someday dreamed of being a cowboy or sabanero? Riding the field under a blue sky without end, herding cattle and horses, and enjoying the freedom of open spaces?

You have the opportunity at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelín, located in the heart of the hacienda land in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, at the foot of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Experience a day as a cowboy in our ranch in the company of an authentic Guanacastean Sabanero, as this is how Costa Rican cowboys are known and his name is given because they spent hours and hours looking after animals in the great Guanacaste savanna.

You have to get up early to work on a farm - 5:45 AM! Start by helping to milk the cows in the pen. Fresh milk arrives in the kitchen of our restaurant every morning to be processed and served at breakfast. After milking, you can go to breakfast at the restaurant and return to get ready to ride on the farm.

The tour varies depending on the tasks that must be performed that day. Some of the activities in which he could participate include working in the stables and the corral, saddling and preparing horses, herding cattle and horses, checking cattle in distant pastures, repairing fences, etc. A picnic lunch is included in this tour.

The tours are guided by one of our experienced sabaneros.
