English Country Dancing was carried over to the 13 American colonies and early republic, and was popular among the founding fathers & mothers, and the common people alike.
This program is offered to novices and experienced dancers alike, and is open to all ages. For people with disabilities or access needs, alternate spaces may be used.
English Country Dance classes are led by a knowledgeable and seasoned instructor, who takes participants through the mechanics of each step within a social dance. A history of 18th and 19th century dance culture is woven into the presentations.
Bring shoes with good support and non-slip soles to handle the dance steps safely.
