About

Board our Carolina Skiff boat as we explore Folly’s inlets, creeks and marshes in search of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. While enjoying the wind on your skin, be entertained with stories of our local ecosystems, various wildlife and waterways. Learn about South Carolina’s only inshore marine mammal while getting an up-close and personal experience like no other. This charter will cruise the tidal creeks in search of dolphins and their unique hunting technique known as strand feeding. Strand feeding occurs when a single dolphin or pod of dolphins drive concentrated schools of fish toward the pluff mud banks where fish become trapped between the mud banks and dolphins. This technique of feeding is only observed in this region of the Atlantic.

Adventure Tips

Bring Polarized Sunglasses

Polarized lenses help reduce glare from the water, making it easier to spot dolphins swimming near the surface.

Book Early for Prime Departure Times

Morning or late afternoon departures often provide calmer waters and better chances to see active dolphins.

Wear Layers for Changing Weather

Even on warm days, coastal weather can be unpredictable; a light jacket or windbreaker can keep you comfortable.

Keep Your Camera Ready

Dolphins can appear suddenly, so having your camera set to a fast shutter speed will help capture the best shots.
