Learn the Basics of White Water Kayaking • Build Your Skills
Description: This intro to kayaking class is great for people who are new to whitewater kayaking or who have some experience in flatwater and/or canoeing.
We will meet at the Reedy Creek Trail Parking Lot before driving you up to our starting point below Pony Pasture. The first half of the lesson will focus on stroke technique and practice in flatwater.
We will then build your skills and transition to the Class I/II rapids of the Upper James River. Enjoy Powhite Ledges, Choo Choo, and Coopers Riffle as you pass under the iconic bridges of Richmond, Virginia.
Time: Daily @ 9 a.m.

What to Bring: Towel, change of clothes, camera, swimwear, hat, sunglasses, river footwear, sunscreen, water bottle, snack, mask/PPE
