This tour is being offered as a limited-time experience, to coincide with the centennial of the Nationality Rooms Program. The Manager of Education Programs for the Program, with 19 years of experience, will be presenting this tour. Having begun in 1926, the Program, now the Nationality and Heritage Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs, has witnessed the creation of 31 Rooms, endured changes and wear to spaces used by thousands yearly, and has propelled scholarship and local ethnic connections. This tour will examine a particular set of Rooms that illustrate themes such as preservation, the original principles that guided the room creation, renovation, and local to global connections.
Content is most relevant for visitors ages 12+. All visitors under the age of 18 must attend with a parent, guardian or caregiver. Not all 31 rooms can be seen on a single tour. A selection that is available will be shown.
