On his walks Andy looks to provide a ‘sense of place’ – his lively and informative walks cover a wide range of local information, history and folklore.
This superb Moelfre history and geology walk will explore some of the fascinating history of the area from the Bronze age, to the Celts and Romans and on to more recent times as we discover the story of the Royal Charter shipwreck. We will see 350 million year old limestone rocks and learn about the story they tell us of Anglesey's ancient past. From quiet country lanes, wooded vales with babbling brooks, to open coastal scenery with extensive views, this walk has it all.
The walk runs from the free public parking in Moelfre village centre. Post code LL72 8LT.
This is a 5 mile moderate / difficult walk requiring a good level of fitness and agility on local lanes, public footpaths and the coastal path, it would be unsuitable for young children, buggies and those with a mobility impairment. The ground is very uneven in places and their are steep stretches on rocky steps along the coastal path. Please discuss any concerns with us prior to booking.
