This tour is a great way to see the complicated connections of plants, animals, and people within the splendor of true wilderness in Alaska. The boreal forest in the lower elevations gives way to specialized sub arctic ecosystems like taiga and tundra. The permafrost areas and fantastic mountains are home to plants and animals highly adapted to the harsh elements. Your guide will stop frequently to explain this in depth. This tour usually covers 2-3 miles in 2.5 hours on improved trails. We do hike inside Denali National Park on front country trails as well as outside the park in state managed lands and native corporation land.
We do not have designated trails but rather allow the guide to customize the location of the tour depending on the group, weather and guide preferences. If you have a preference please share this with your guide upon arrival.
Also, ages 5+ are welcome but they must be able to walk or be carried for up to 3 miles on the trail.
