About This Adventure

Your donation of $7 saves you $1 while receiving both the 2025 Conservation Pin (Mexican gray wolf) and the 2024 Conservation Pin (red panda)... The brand new 2025 pin features a Mexican Gray Wolf, as we have three of these endangered animals at LV Zoo (Magdalena, Garza, Stratus). Net proceeds from sales of these conservation pins will support the efforts of Defenders of Wildlife to support scientists that work to find the best path forward to species sustainability; to work with ranchers and tribal members to implement proven techniques to keep wolves and livestock safe; and to support wildlife technicians who monitor wolves and livestock to reduce conflict and foster coexistence.

YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR PIN(S) UPON CHECK-IN AT THE ZOO.

As an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited facility, the Lehigh Valley Zoo is proud to play a role in the conservation community through participation in AZA SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction. AZA SAFE Mexican Wolf works to support conservation efforts for this species. By visiting the Lehigh Valley Zoo and other AZA member institutions, you’re supporting the highest level of animal care and welfare, along with the promotion of conservation of animals such as the Mexican Grey Wolf.

Mexican Gray Wolves are considered one of the rarest land mammals on earth, with their largest threat being humans. In the 1970’s they were eradicated from the wild due to conflicts with livestock. Through conservation efforts like legislation protecting endangered species, and release programs, the wild population has been slowly increasing. This species is still at risk and organizations are working hard to conserve them. Through education and awareness we can aim to increase public acceptance, therefore reducing conflicts between wolves and humans.

Add our annual Conservation Pins to your admission while supplies last.
