Developed over thousands of years by wind and water, Capitol Reef National Park's brilliantly colored sandstone cliffs and canyons provide an endless playground to explore. These natural obstacle courses provide plenty of unique and fun challenges to overcome which may include hiking, scrambling, rappelling, down-climbing and wading. Canyoneering may sound intimidating but with the support and guidance of a professional guide, canyoneering is a family-friendly adventure.
Carry at least two liters of water per person, as desert air and exertion quickly dehydrate you.
Temperatures can swing dramatically; wear lightweight, breathable clothing and bring a warm layer for shade breaks.
