Established in 1964, Canyonlands National Park spans over 330,000 acres. With three distinct districts, plus the detached Horseshoe Canyon sub-unit, the possibilities of exploration are endless! The Island in the Sky District is known for short hikes to the edge of the mesa, providing world-class views in every direction. The Needles District offers excellent hiking and an opportunity to get lost in and amongst the fins, spires and occasional arches! The Maze District is extremely remote and difficult to see in one day. The detached Horseshoe Canyon sub-unit hosts some of the most special rock art in Southern Utah.
